Julia Dalakian

Fashion Designer

Her collections are typically characterised by a laid-back, sexy style with softly draping, preferably transparent fabrics and bold décolletés.

Julia Dalakian is a fashion designer with passion – and absolute professionalism. Shortly after her birth, her family moved from Baku to Moscow, where the designer still lives. She opened her first studio there in 1989 and has enjoyed such sustained success over the years that she founded her own label in 1996. Her collections are typically characterised by a laid-back, sexy style with softly draping, preferably transparent fabrics and bold décolletés. She predominantly uses high quality fabrics and is known for her challenging use of colour. Julia Dalakian’s designs are aimed at active, self-assured women who take centre-stage as a matter of course. Her fashion can be found far beyond her Russian homeland, appearing on the runways at countless international shows such as Milan, Berlin, Cape Town, Beijing and New York. Her collections were a celebrated high point of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, the biggest event of its kind in all of Eastern Europe. Miele has been and still is so impressed by Julia Dalakian’s creativity that her show was sponsored by the Gütersloh-based company. Of course, the designer is also impressed by Miele – by its innovation, quality and the design of its products. It comes as no surprise that the Miele FashionMaster 2.0 is always by Julia Dalakian’s side.
